MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY has prepared a Quality Control Order in respect of 1.) Corrugated and Semi - Corrugated Asbestos Cement Sheets 2.) Asbestos Cement Pressure Pipes and Joints 3.) Asbestos Cement Flat Sheets 4.) Asbestos Cement Building Boards 5.) Asbestos - Cement Pipes and Fittings for Sewerage and Drainage 6.) Silica-Asbestos-Cement Flat Sheets 7.) Asbestos Cement Cable Conduits and Troughs 8.) Asbestos Cement Pressure Pipes (Light Duty) 9.) Shallow Corrugated Asbestos Cement Sheets 10.) Fibre Cement Flat Sheets 11.) Fibre Reinforced Cement Products – Long Corrugated or Asymmetrical Section Sheets and Fittings for Roofing and Cladding in Consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS Certification keeping in view the Human Safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of Product. The Notification was Released on 5 March 2024 and It will be Implemented from :
- 6th September 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover >50 crores)
- 6th December 2024 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores)
- 6th March 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover <5 crores)
