Dear Reader,
MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY has prepared a Quality Control Order in respect of 1.) Door closers (pneumatically regulated) for light doors weighing up to 40 kg 2.) Door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated) 3.) Hydraulically Regulated Door Closers 4.) Floor springs (hydraulically regulated) for heavy doors 5.) Rim Latches 6.) Door Handles 7.) Door handles for mortice lock (vertical type) in Consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS Certification keeping in view the Human Safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of Product. The QCO for above said Product is attached below :

Hydraulically Regulated Door Closers 4.) Floor springs (hydraulically regulated) for heavy doors 5.) Rim Latches 6.) Door Handles 7.) Door handles for mortice lock (vertical type) under Door closers (pneumatically regulated) for light doors weighing up to 40 kg (IS 6343:1982), Door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated) (IS 14912:2001), Hydraulically Regulated Door Closers (IS 3564:1995), Floor springs (hydraulically regulated) for heavy doors (IS 6315:1992), Rim Latches (IS 1019:1974), Door Handles (IS 208:2020), and Door handles for mortice lock (vertical type) (IS 4992:1975) is as below :
The Notification was Released on 23 October 2023 and It will be Implemented from :
- 23rd April 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover >50 crores)
- 23rd July 2024 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores)
- 23rd October 2024 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover <5 crores)
